The Art of the Warrior

Japanese weapons training (Kobudo) preserves the fighting arts of the Samurai warriors, teaching both practical skills and traditional forms.

Weapons training enhances your understanding of distance, timing, and body mechanics. The disciplines complement empty-hand martial arts training, providing insights into combat principles that transfer across all martial arts.

At Jan De Jong Martial Arts, weapons training is available to students who have developed foundational skills in our core martial arts programs. Training is conducted with safety as the primary focus, using wooden training weapons.

Traditional Weapons

Bokken (Wooden Sword)
